In STXM 4, we have the following display-related entries in the sm_par structure: disp_num_channels, disp_denom_channels, disp_raw, disp_min, disp_max, disp_gamma, disp_num_factors, disp_denom_factors and disp_name. For a detailed discussion, refer to the data file documentation.
In short, any specific display which is more than just one channel of raw data has to be generated from the raw data as a ratio of two linear combinations of all ADC and Scaler channels. The parameters for a number of such displays are stored in the sm_gui_disp_settings.dat file, but parameters for only one such display can be stored in the data file, along with min, max and gamma values for the actual display of that display (ask Benjamin if you don't understand that sentence ...).
