When not scanning, we leave the microscope hardware in a specific configuration. The Delta Tau servo loops are left closed so that the interferometer position is stabilized. In addition, the routine sm_scan.clock_configure() is called with the scan_is_idle parameter set to 1 so as to provide a steady clock pulse to the segmented silicon detector.
