Connecting ACS stepper driver with Newport MFN stepper motor

Table 4.4 lists pinouts of Newport MFN stepper motor, and corresponding pins of motor and encoder connectors on the back on ACS crate.

Table 4.4: Connections for the Newport MFN stepper motors (used for ZSTG) to to the ACS SPR-9 back panel connectors. These connections are made by the ``ACS rewiring box.'' Power for encoder that has to be connected to pins 21 and 22 has to brought through connector J20 as explained in Sec. 4.3. Fig. 4.2 shows limit switches connection for solid state type limits. The Newport MFN 25 pin connector is described on p. 8.13 (Appendix B) of the Newport MM-3000 manual. The ACS connections are described on pages 9 and 10 of the ACS Step-Pak manual.

The connection of solid state type limit switches is displayed on Fig. 4.2. To provide power on pins V and R, DC power has to brought in connector J9 as explained in Sec. 4.3.
