The Move Menu

This menu is inactive in display_only mode. In this menu, you can open popup windows which let you move the scan devices manually (see Fig. 5.14 for an example). The area for each device shows you the current position. You can move the device to a certain position, or by a certain distance (positive or negative). You can also move positive or negative in predefined steps. See Sec. 1.2 for the definition of positive and negative.

By clicking "Update Motor Positions", you can specifically ask for the current positions, even though in most cases, they should be correct even if the device was moved from outside SM_GUI.
