The Display Information Area
On the bottom left, you find the display information area. For
image files, you can click into an image in the big display window
and
- the X and Y profiles through the image at the clicked
position will be displayed in the corresponding profile windows,
- in the "Display Information" area, the following are
displayed:
- The scan pixel number, where the lower-left corner
is [0, 0]. Yes, it's scan pixels and not display pixels
(these are different in zoom stages different than 1.0,
and possibly when the "True Aspect Ratio" box is checked).
- The absolute position of that pixel in the microscope in
microns. This will be correct in any zoom stage and also with
the "True Aspect Ratio" box set.
- The position of that pixel in microns relative to the
scan center. This is mainly to provide a quick measure of
distances in the image.
- The "Data Value" field will show the data value of
the pixel clicked. Of course the physical meaning of this
depends strongly on which signal type and detector /
display you are looking at (see
Chap. 9). In the basic cases, it's
the photon count rate in kHz.
- The "Energy" and "Wavelength" fields will
display the energy and wavelength of the scan. Obviously,
these won't change when you click at different positions
in the image.
You can also click into the X profile window, in which case the
clicked Y position is kept fixed and you can read the data value
or display the Y profile for different X values. Of course, the
same works vice versa for the Y profile window.
