Starting SM_GUI

If you are working on any of the microscope control client computers provided at the beamline, you'll just start the program with the appropriate button on the desktop. This will start the precompiled version in the IDL Virtual Machine.

To run the program on your own computer, we offer a precompiled version (.sav file) for download at http://xray1.physics.sunysb.edu/data/software.php. This version can be run with the freely-available IDL Virtual Machine, or in a licenced IDL version if you happened to have one. You can download the Virtual Machine from www.rsinc.com.

Of course people who have access to the full source code library (the idl_local CVS repository on xray1 can run the program from source.
