This section describes how to use the STXM 5 Graphical User Interface. It is written in IDL and can be used to control the microscope as well as to display scans. It can run in a display_only mode to look at previously recorded files with all microscope control features turned off, on any computer with IDL or the free IDL Virtual Machine installed.
Some basic image processing and file export features are available. See Sec. 5.18 about STXM 4 data file support and Sec. 5.19 for opening APS data files.
