Folders

In the whole microscope control we create a bunch of files (log file, scripts etc.), which should all be created in the same folder. On Unix based machines this will be the current user's home directory as stored in the environment variable $HOME. On the standard client PCs this is:

  /home/micros

If this environment variable does not exist, the current directory of the IDL session is used and it is the user's responsibility to know, where on his machine that is.
Always be sure to edit files in or copy them over to the correct folder. You may get unexpected results, if for example the wrong stack_script.dat is executed.
