There are two options of getting a visual feedback of the stack
progress:
- On the local machine you can open the Stack Monitor
(button on Desktop), which displays the 3 most recently recorded scans.
This button first opens an IDL session and then automatically the Stack Monitor. Also
it will close the IDL session, when the Stack Monitor is exited. We don't use the IDL
Virtual Machine here because it gave us some trouble. (Maybe RSI will fix this in the future.)
The disadvantage is, that we now use up the only available IDL session on the client
computers. So if you want to log into the computers from outside and use an IDL session for
example to restart a stack (see. 2.11.2), you will have
to kill the IDL session of the Stack Monitor first (which in general is no problem).
- On any machine with internet access go to
http://xray1.physics.sunysb.edu/data/thumbs.php.
to see stack images with about 6 minutes delay.
