Setting up the Stack
- Having recorded the template, you can then go ahead an set up a stack. With the template
opened in SM_GUI go to Extra
Setup Stack (to open a
window as shown in Fig. 2.6).
- The template file is handed over to the Stack Setup window, but you can also pick
a different Template File if desired.
- If you wish to record an
region separately during the stack (see
2.11.1) you can browse for the
Template.
- You then have to specify energies and dwell times of your stack images. Enter stack
intervals with starting and ending energies (eV), energy step sizes (eV) and dwells (ms). It is
possible to open a spectrum in SM_GUI and have clicked energy values appear in
Stack Setup by hitting Click eV.
- If the segmented silicon detector was used in the template, you can specify how often to
calibrate it. The default is every 5 energies.
- You have the option to start the stack at the Lowest eV instead of the
Highest eV.
- Per default the availability of x-rays is checked every image, and the stack is paused if
necessary. You can turn this feature off, by clicking Ignore beam status.
- Create Stack Script finalizes the Stack Setup.
