Hardware correction

The more complicated alternative is to turn that chamber around the exit snout, by the determined angles.

  1. The drift parameters you caluculated in 12.3.1 happen to be the tilts between ZSTG and beam axes in rads (for example 0.45$\mu $m drift in $X$ divided by 100$\mu $m change in $Z$ gives 4.5 mrad tilt)
  2. Now look at Tab. 12.1 (also in the Logbook x1ais Jul99 to Oct99 on page 73) which tells you by how much you have to move the manipulators to achieve a tilt change of 1 deg (which is 16 mrads).
  3. Calculate the changes you need (ignore the changes in z). If the feature moves towards more negative XPZT values as you increase the energy you will have to rotate counter clockwise (move upstream side outboard and downstream side inboard) around the Y-Axis.
For the vertical if the feature image moves towards more negative YPZT values, you have to rotate clockwise around the X-Axis.
