Taking Scans

To record an x-ray image of the sample, take a focal scan or record a point spectrum, choose the appropriate scan type from the Scan menu. For coarse overview scans, this will be a Stepper scan, for fine high-resolution scans it will be a Piezo scan. You can choose the number of steps, the step (pixel) sizes and / or the field size. Also, you can choose the pixel dwell time - longer dwell times will obviously make the scan slower, but might give a better image quality due to the larger number of photons collected. Click Start and wait for the scan to finish. In the end, enter the scan information and save it if necessary. See Chap. 7 for more information.
