Unless you deliberately make changes (choosing "Custom Detectors"
in the scan setup window, see Sec. 5.12), STXM 5
will always choose which signal to record according to the
following rules:
- If the proportional counter is currently inserted
(standard on the outboard STXM), the proportional counter
signal is recorded.
- If the segmented silicon detector is currently inserted
(standard on the inboard STXM), all eight (possibly nine or
ten in the future) silicon detector segments are recorded.
- If the fast scan axis is a stepper motor (not a piezo
device), the clock signal will be recorded additionally. The
reason is that stepper motors can't guaranty a constant dwell
time due to motor acceleration and deceleration. Piezos can.
