If you check the "Custom" box in the "Detector channels to record" area, you can set which detector signals to record for each scan pixel. See Chap. 9 for details. By default, the proportional counter or all silicon detector segments will be chosen, depending on which detector is currently inserted. The clock signal (which measures the real pixel dwell time for each pixel) will automatically be recorded if the fast (X) scan device is a stepper motor (because they can't provide a constant dwell time due to acceleration and deceleration), independent of whether this box is checked or not. That means, you can only choose to turn on the clock for piezo scans, but you can't turn it off for stepper motor scans (only the fast axis counts).
Signals which are labeled "unused" in the microscope configuration file (see Chap. 13, this is different from the SM_GUI config file!) can't be selected.
