Introduction

This manual describes the Stony Brook cryo Scanning Transmission X-ray microscope (cryo STXM), located at beamline X1A at the NSLS. It tries to guide through alignment and operation, and it attempts to help with the most frequent problems. More general information on the beamline, beamline alignment and the beamline interlock can be found in the <a href=''http://xray1.physics.sunysb.edu/local_doc/x1a_doc/x1a_doc.html''> X1A beamline manual </a>. The cryo interlock is described in more detail <a href=''http://xray1.physics.sunysb.edu/ osanna/cryointl/cryointl.html''> here </a>. For information on the design of the cryo STXM, recent results and publications, please check out <a href=''http://xray1.physics.sunysb.edu/ osanna/cryoSTXM/cryoSTXM.html''> this page </a>. The manual was started by Jörg Maser and is currently maintained by Angelika Osanna. It will be updated periodically.
