The shutter can be operated in two different modes: local and remote. The local mode can be chosen by moving the local switch into the down position, whereas flipping it up gives remote mode. In local mode the position of the shutter is controlled by the open switch. In remote mode the open switch is bypassed and the shutter is controlled by the STXM computer.
The control box supplies the shutter with two different voltages. The
higher voltage is used for moving the shutter from open to closed
position. It is adjusted while the shutter is open with the
HI screw and is monitored using the MON
output. The lower voltage is used for holding the closed shutter
in. Adjustements are made similarly as for the higher voltage except
using the LO screw while the shutter is closed.
Changes
must be made first to the high voltage and then to the low voltage,
since the low voltage is influenced by the high.
Important: the low voltage must not be set above 13.2
V because of possible heat damage to the solenoid!
