Nanofabrication Engineer,
X-ray Diffractive Optics

We are seeking to hire a nanofabrication engineer to work on electron beam lithography of x-ray diffractive optics with a salary of $50-60K/year depending on qualifications.  The candidate would work with the x-ray optics group at Stony Brook as well as nanofabrication staff at the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) at Brookhaven National Laboratory, using electron beam lithography facilities at BNL and also either at the New Jersey Nanotechnology Consortium (NJNC) in Murray Hill, New Jersey; or possibly also the Cornell NanoScale Science and Technology Facility (CNF) in Ithaca, New York.  Candidate residence near any of these three locations would be considered; the candidate will be reimbursed for travel between BNL and NJNC or CNF.  The candidate should have a B.A. or B.S. in physics, chemistry, or engineering; experience with thin film processing and/or C language computer programming is strongly preferred.  This position is for one year with possible renewal for a second year, and would provide the candidate with excellent qualifications for the possible expansion of positions at the CFN/BNL as they anticipate adding high-end nanofabrication capabilities in 2009/2010.

Stony Brook is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, and members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.  If you need a disability-related accommodation, please call the University Human Resource Services Department at +1-631-632-6161.
